Thank you for viewing the Peace Lutheran Church web site. I hope something on this site will spark your interest to join us for worship. In the mean time, please allow me to tell you a bit about the church.
I have a unique roll here at Peace, I am the Parish Administrator, which means I am responsible for the day to day operations of the church. I would with our Pastor, Penny Olson, our Parish Planning Council, the staff and the congregation. I am also the Educator for the Parish which means I facilitate Christian Education helping teachers choose curriculum, teaching, leading Bible Studies and what ever other learning experience crop up but I am also the Deacon of Peace.
I was ordained in Word and Service in 2007 after extensive training and preparation through the Order of St. Stephen Deacon. I serve my pastor and congregation and have a very specific call. Currently I am responsible for preparing young children for first holy communion, Wednesday Evening Worship and Programming and recently Pastor Penny has asked me to take on the challenge of Missions and Outreach and I have begun to work with individuals to expand the mission and ministry of Peace. Pastor Penny has also graciously given me additional opportunities to preach, something I enjoy very much.
Peace has always been a special place for me. I often tell the story of how, when my husband and I were church seeking we parked outside of churches and prayed. In front of Peace I felt a strong presence of the Holy Spirit at work among the congregation and almost 10 years later I still feel that presence each and every day.
Peace is a caring, gracious and a very prayerful congregation. We have many active volunteers and believe in using Spiritual Gifts as the basis for our service to the Lord. We have Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Youth Group, Weight Watchers, Recovery Groups, Bible Studies, Choir, MOMS and Me and we are open to other groups or ministries, as we like to call them, all you need to provide is an idea and direction and we have the opportunity to grow in many areas.
We support NCEON, the North County Emergency Outreach Network, with food donations throughout the year and a personal goal is to have Peace become a food resource for the community.
When we say all are welcome at Peace we mean it. We have several families and children with special needs and we are constantly expanding our ministry in this area.
I invite you to visit with us and experience a more traditional style of Worship at 8:30am on Sunday mornings and if you prefer a slightly more contemporary version of Worship please join us at 11am but in any case I truly hope you come by and worship with us.
Thanks for reading, God’s peace and blessings to you all.
Have a Blest Day!
Deacon Gail Wilson, OSSD
Administrator and Educator
